Ten Years of JRAB
Last week we celebrated 10 years in Business - an incredible milestone! We marked the occasion with a big ‘do’ at our new office. It was fairly informal and fun (true to who we are), but we did pause to allow for a few speeches, including one from Jack.
Here’s an excerpt from his speech:
It’s been awesome to make it to 10 years in business! With any company - it’s never one person that determines its success, but many. For us, it’s no different, and many of the people in this room have shaped who we are today… so here are some ‘thank you’s’:
Aaron; the brother I never had (or wanted) - someone that drives me mad but brings a level-headed approach and a lot of passion to the company. His drive to get details ‘right’ is unmatched.
Tim- the ‘energiser bunny’ … never in 4 years have I seen this guy not give 110%. His magic with clients or getting a neighbour across the line is something only he can do - he’s our secret weapon - his loyalty and positivity do not go unnoticed.
Zia- the voice of JRAB, capturing our intentions, and who we are as a business. A great teammate with original ideas, creating magic with our projects, website and social media … and someone to argue with about what goes on the walls in the office.
Sommer- the gun that supports the whole team - the wearer of 15 hats. She came into this role to do accounts, but has been thrown in deep and has thrived - quickly joining the rest of the team in becoming an asset to the company.
To all the boys - nothing’s fun without mates! Thanks for the laughs and opportunities to blow off some steam … which apparently we’re pretty good at.
To Mum and Rus- for your continued support and faith in me. Malcom and Trish- for giving me and Tash a home when we had none, and for always being there for the kids.
My Dad- one of my biggest supporters to date; he always lent an ear and gave advice when I had no one else to turn to. His simple approach to problems and no-nonsense, one-line suggestions were sometimes all I needed to hear.
Tashy - we’ve grown a lot together; from my days as an apprentice builder, to having amazing experiences and creating a perfect family. Your faith in me has never wavered or been in question. Your support, listening and advice through the good and bad has been immeasurable. They say a man is only as good as his partner - and you to me are more than a partner - our family and our experiences together are the true wealth to me.
For the rest of the team - including those of our subcontractors who are here tonight … we are a team. Thank you for making each day fun and creating something special in each project we do. … we’re only just warming up!
And lastly a big thank you to all of our clients - we are so lucky to work with such great people! In this industry, we often hear of others having difficult clients - but that is not the case for us! We couldn’t do it without you - your support and trust in the journey and process means so much.
I’ll leave you with this one quote that has sat with me and is something I think about often…
“We must always remember in each and every moment we are composing the story of our lives, so let's aim to make it a great read ... or at least an interesting one.”
